The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program is now accepting nominations for the CAREC Gender and Green Innovation Awards, a prestigious initiative designed to honor individuals and organizations making significant strides in advancing gender equality through green innovation and technology.
This year’s awards spotlight the transformative impact of green technologies in addressing climate challenges and fostering inclusive development, in line with the theme of the CAREC Women’s Business Forum 2025: “Together for Green Innovation and Gender Equity.” The awards seek to celebrate efforts that promote gender equity, climate resilience, and sustainability, contributing to a more equitable and sustainable future in the CAREC region.
Nominees must be residents or nationals of a CAREC member country (Azerbaijan, People’s Republic of China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) or organizations active in at least one of these countries. Individuals or organizations with a proven commitment to advancing gender equality and utilizing green technologies to drive climate resilience, adaptation, and mitigation, either through professional or voluntary work, are eligible to apply.
Nominations can be submitted by the nominee themselves or by a trusted third party. The nomination period is open until April 30, 2025.
For individual nominees, selection criteria include measurable impact, inclusive leadership, innovation in technology, and alignment with CAREC strategies. For organizations, criteria will focus on measurable impact on gender equality, collaboration and partnerships, sustainability and innovation, and community engagement and empowerment.
When submitting nominations, applicants should emphasize their innovative approaches to tackling gender issues and climate challenges through green technology or sustainable practices. They should highlight their use of green technology including fintech in areas such as renewable energy, waste management, eco-tourism or trade, or sustainable agriculture, with a particular focus on promoting women in green tech.
Winners will be recognized at a high-profile ceremony during the CAREC Women’s Business Forum in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, on October 15, 2025. In addition to the awards, winners will receive international, regional, and national media exposure and be invited to participate in CAREC’s high-level events, regional workshops, and training programs focused on green innovation and technology.
