The CAREC Gender and Climate Change capacity building training program aims to enhance understanding and skills in areas where gender equality and climate change intersect. The program includes various components designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities that gender dynamics present in climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts in the region.
Specifically, the training aims to increase the audience’s understanding on the gendered impacts of climate change; equip participants with skills to integrate gender considerations into climate change policies and programs; and encourage actions that promote gender equality in climate resilience and sustainability efforts.
The training will cover sessions such as: understanding the gender and climate change nexus; gender assessment in climate change mitigation and adaptation tools and methodologies for gender analysis; adopting gender-transformative approaches in climate actions; and opportunity for networking and collaboration.
CAREC Gender Climate Champions, government officials and policymakers, non-government organizations, community leaders, climate change practitioners and researchers, and development organizations will be present at the event.
